No. Children need a different magic than adults. They have less patience and need quick visual effects. I like to give my magic a bit more story and depth to create a more impressive experience. Therefore, some of my effects are not optimal for children. Although I also have some effects that are wonderfully suitable for children, as I regularly entertain children at weddings, but if you are looking for someone for a children’s birthday party, I would rather give you the contact of a children’s magician who is better specialized in this kind of magic than I am.

Yes. For this, it is best to look at my services as an event magician and business magician.

I always wear a dark blue suit and am elegantly dressed for my shows. You can see this in my photos. If you would like me to wear a different dress style for your event, we can discuss this during the booking process.

Yes. As long as the recordings do not disturb the course of the show, you are welcome to film and photograph me. I am also happy if you share the recordings with me afterwards.

There is no minimum number of spectators for my stage show, but usually a proper show atmosphere only develops from 10-20 guests upwards. The upper limit for my show is two to three hundred guests. For larger audiences, it makes sense to also set up screens and broadcast me live on them so that all viewers have a good view of my magic and a fantastic experience.

As the name suggests, the spectators who help me in the show are actually volunteers in this role. I would never force anyone onto the stage who does not want to be there. I am grateful to the volunteers who support me and treat them respectfully.

I often perform at the following events: weddings, company parties, trade show events, summer festivals, Christmas parties, birthday parties, team building events, networking events, influencer events, and private parties. Yes. I offer magic workshops as an addition to my performances. This way, the participating guests can spread out afterwards and present their newly learned magic.

Yes. I enjoy showing my close-up magic even in a small circle.

No. I do not have assistants and perform solo.

No. There are some magic effects with animals that I find aesthetically pleasing, but I almost always consider them to be animal cruelty. Animals are squeezed into tight, dark pockets or containers, from which they are then ripped out and presented at the right moment. I don’t find that nice and therefore don’t do it.

Yes. I have often performed magic on boats and, although it has its own challenges, I enjoy it. Apart from occasional private magic tricks on the S-Bahn for friends, I have never performed magic on a train and look forward to the opportunity if it arises.

For my close-up magic, I need nothing but friendly guests who enjoy being entertained. 🙂 For a stage show, I need a performance area where all guests can see me. For higher guest counts or loud events, it makes sense for me to work with a microphone, which I bring myself. We can discuss any other requirements during the booking process.

No. I can perform under any type of lighting. It is advisable to have enough light so that all guests can see well.

For smaller audiences of up to 50 guests, I do not need a microphone during my show. Accordingly, you do not need to worry about a sound system. If I need a microphone for my show, we should discuss where I can connect it. Often, the event locations have a sound system, or the DJ brings one, but if neither is available, you would need to provide a sound system for me.

The booking process is straightforward. You can contact me via the contact form, by email, or by phone to discuss your event details. It’s easiest to discuss your ideas and wishes over the phone. Once I understand how I can best support you, I will present you a tailored offer for your needs.

I generally conduct my consultation calls over the phone. Once we talk, I ask you to give me an overview of your planning and your expectations of me. Once I fully understand what you are looking for, I explain what I can do for you and the price I charge for it. You can ask me any questions that come to mind and then decide after our conversation whether my offer suits you.

The price of my show depends on factors such as the location, duration, and date. For a more detailed explanation, see my article: “How much does a magician cost?” If you write to me or call me, I will be happy to create an individual offer for your event.

No. After my performance, I will send you an invoice, which you can then pay by bank transfer within 14 days.

If your event unexpectedly cannot take place, I will first try to find an alternative date with you. If we manage that, no additional costs will be incurred. If the date is canceled without replacement, the following conditions apply: You can cancel free of charge up to 90 days before the booked date. After that, 50% of the agreed fee is due for cancellation, and 100% from 14 days before the date.

Outdoor events are no problem. I tailor my shows to suit the respective event location.

I generally plan for 30 minutes of preparation time. This means I usually arrive 45-60 minutes before my first magic activity and prepare. During the event, the accompanying preparations go much faster because I have already prepared the most important things upon my arrival.

No. I only use small amounts of smoke in my smoke effects, and the smoke is produced completely without fire. There is no danger.

My magic career began with a simple card trick that my cousin taught me at Christmas. I was captivated that day and taught myself more effects through the internet. During my studies at the Freie Universität Berlin, I showed them to my fellow students with sometimes more and sometimes less success. Several years have passed since then, and now I regularly travel through the capital to perform my magic. I do this at events in The Reed, the Ritz-Carlton Berlin, or in unique locations like the Hogarts. At weddings, I perform magic at the Schlosscafe Köpenick or the Brauhaus Lemke at Alexanderplatz. I’ve also conducted team-building workshops in Mitte and am happy to have found the perfect profession for myself.

I had tendencies to be the class clown in school and enjoyed spreading happiness. To be honest with myself, I probably enjoy being the center of attention more than others. But that doesn’t mean I begrudge others this attention. Anyway, magic fulfills both criteria and probably that’s why I immediately enjoyed it. I also like the basic idea behind every magic trick, namely that things that seem completely impossible are actually possible. In life, as in magic, it is often the assumption of impossibility that leads us astray. I also enjoy being among people and am glad that I can pursue a profession that fills me with joy.

The first magician who inspired me was Jeff McBride, with his charismatic, wild, and lively presentations. His effects are always big and very visual, which fascinated me at the beginning. Over time, my taste has changed, and I have developed a preference for less loud effects that convince me with a more pleasant and charming atmosphere. Both forms of magic have their right to exist, but I gain more joy from presentations with deep magical moments and beautiful stories than from loud effects with confetti, silk scarves, and sometimes even iPads. That’s why I took another magician as a role model early on. Namely Tommy Wonder, who unfortunately is no longer alive, but with his charming close-up magic has shaped my career.

Every healthy person has stage fright when presenting something in front of others. A certain amount of excitement is helpful and ensures that one does not become careless. However, once you have successfully mastered the same situation hundreds of times, the excitement decreases because you know that you will be successful again next time. When I come into new unfamiliar situations with my magic or add new effects to my program, I am more excited than in well-known situations. Unfortunately, this cannot be changed, and the only way to reduce this excitement is to face the situations, prepare as well as possible, and perform with excitement. The best tip I can give about stage fright is to prepare so well for the situation that you can handle it even in an excited state and have emergency solutions ready in case something goes wrong. If you do that, you will also be more relaxed within the situation.

I would advise them
to learn some tricks and present them. Instead of constantly learning new tricks like most amateur magicians, I recommend improving the tricks you already know. I have written a detailed guide on how to become a magician here.

Yes and no. I really enjoy the ‘Karneval der Kulturen‘ and visit it every year to enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere and especially the music. Over the years, I have performed magic there a few times, but always privately in a smaller setting for my friends. Unfortunately, I have never been professionally booked for any of the accompanying parties. However, I would be happy if that changes in the future. 🙂
