The Structure of My Team Building Magic Workshop
1. Magical Moments as Icebreakers: My magic workshop begins with a demonstration of my own magic to break the ice and create an atmosphere of curiosity and excitement. This magical introduction serves as inspiration and demonstrates what is possible with practice and dedication.
2. Learning One or More Magic Tricks: I explain tricks that are impressive yet can be learned with little practice. Along with the technical execution, I emphasize the art of presentation. A magic trick is not only about the illusion but also how it is presented. Tips on creating a story around the trick and interacting with the audience are part of this lesson.
3. Collective Development of a Presentation: Once the participants have mastered the trick, they work together in groups to develop their own presentations. This not only promotes teamwork but also creativity.
4. Final Show: The climax of the workshop is the final show, where anyone who dares can present their trick to the others. These moments strengthen self-confidence and the sense of community. Afterwards, I present my magic again as an entertaining conclusion and as a thank you to the participants for their commitment and creativity.

The Implementation of My Team-Building Magic Workshop
The execution of a magic workshop is a carefully planned process aimed at creating an unforgettable and educational experience for your team. Here’s how I work with you to design this magical day together:
Objective Analysis, Planning, and Preparation:
Every magic workshop begins long before the actual event. To tailor the workshop optimally to your team, I start with a detailed conversation with you to understand your goals and desires precisely. Afterwards, we collaboratively develop a customized concept tailored to your needs.
The typical schedule of a workshop day:
Welcome and Introductory Show: Short magic show for all participants to break the ice.
Group Division and Learning Magic Tricks: Group division and teaching of different magic tricks.
Preparation for Presentation: Time for practicing and preparing the magic tricks.
Presentation: Volunteers present their magic art to the group. Fun is the focus.
Closing Show: Another magic show by me as the final highlight.
Follow-up:
After the workshop concludes, your employees still have the opportunity for interaction and exchange because I ensure that each group learns different magic tricks. This opens the possibility for team members to teach each other the effects they learned even in the days following the workshop.
Frequently Asked Questions
General Information about the Magic Workshop:
Yes. I enjoy performing magic at international events and speak good English and German.
The duration of the workshop varies and is determined during the planning phase to be flexible according to the available time and the organizers’ preferences. Typically, a time frame of 2-3 hours is most popular as it provides enough time to offer a profound and enriching experience without exhausting the participants. Within this time, all core components of the workshop – from the introduction to magic, learning and practicing magic tricks, to the final presentation – can be completed without rushing, ensuring full engagement of every participant.
In my workshops, I place great emphasis on teaching participants magic tricks that can be performed with everyday objects. This ensures that the tricks are not only learned once but can also be applied in daily life, thus being remembered sustainably. Some specific effects I teach include easy-to-learn tricks with playing cards, personal items like a scarf, or even with rubber bands. This selection allows participants to quickly experience success and learn an effect they can use permanently to bring joy to others. Focusing on such everyday objects makes magic accessible and promotes willingness to share what they have learned and apply it in various contexts.
No. We all start from scratch together, and every participant who actively participates will be able to master and present the magic trick by the end, if they choose to do so.
The optimal group size for the workshop depends on the specific team for which the workshop is planned. I am flexible and able to find the appropriate solution and division for a variety of group sizes. Our goal is to provide a personal and interactive experience for each participant, whether it’s a small team or a larger group. Through individual adaptation, we ensure that the workshop is equally enriching and effective for all participants.”
The grouping for workshop activities is carefully planned to promote the team-building concept optimally. There are two main approaches: groups can be either randomly formed to create new connections within the team and promote communication across existing departmental boundaries, or they are deliberately formed so that individuals come together who also collaborate on solutions in the work context. This promotes collaboration and understanding among colleagues who regularly work together. The specific strategy for group formation is coordinated with you during the initial discussion to ensure that the workshop best supports your team-building goals.
For the workshop, I will bring all the necessary materials, so you don’t have to worry about anything else. In some cases, especially when teaching participants an effect with scarves, it may be useful for participants to bring their own scarves. This allows them to practice directly with the item they will use later, which facilitates the learning process and the subsequent performance of the trick, making it more personal. Otherwise, I ensure that all necessary utensils are available for a successful and enjoyable workshop.
No. The workshop is designed to be equally accessible and entertaining for adults and teenagers alike, regardless of their age. So, even the interns can join if they want to. 🙂
To ensure that every participant is actively involved, each one is given the opportunity to present their learned effect at the end of the workshop. I am particularly careful to find a suitable role within the final presentation for those participants who may be a bit more shy. This means that even participants who are not comfortable showing an effect to the entire group can still be involved in the presentation without feeling uncomfortable.
It’s important to emphasize that no one is forced to show anything. The workshop is intended to be a positive and enriching experience for all participants. I place great value on creating an atmosphere of positivity and encouragement, where everyone feels comfortable and valued. If someone does not want to participate in the presentation due to shyness or discomfort, I completely respect that. It’s important to me that every participant leaves the event in good spirits and can enjoy the performances of their colleagues without feeling pressured.
It’s very rare that an attentive participant doesn’t learn the trick, as the effect I’ve selected is specifically designed to be easy to understand yet impressive. However, if it does happen that someone doesn’t immediately master the effect, it’s an excellent opportunity to foster teamwork and collaboration even after the workshop. In such cases, participants who have already mastered the trick can support their colleagues by teaching them the effect calmly and without the pressure of the workshop at a later time. This not only strengthens interpersonal relationships within the team but also promotes a culture of helpfulness.
Yes. As long as the recordings do not disrupt the flow of the magic workshop, you are welcome to film and photograph me. I would also appreciate it if you shared the recordings with me afterwards. You can see some nice pictures and my video in my gallery.
The workshop is highly interactive. From the beginning, participants are actively engaged in the learning process by learning a magic trick together. This not only promotes a shared experience but also mutual support: participants help each other master the trick and overcome any difficulties. After learning the trick, the group’s creativity comes into play as teams develop their own presentation for the learned effect. This phase of the workshop strengthens teamwork and fosters communication among participants.
The highlight of the workshop is the presentation of the different effects and their accompanying presentations to the other groups, which not only strengthens team spirit but also garners phenomenal applause and recognition from all sides. However, interaction does not end with the conclusion of the workshop. Participants also have the opportunity to teach each other the learned magic tricks afterward, providing further opportunities for interaction and deepening the collaboration and exchange started in the workshop.
Typically, I limit the number of tricks taught in the workshop to two or three. This limitation allows participants to engage deeply with each trick and learn it thoroughly. This ensures that the learned material is anchored in their memory and available to them for the rest of their lives, rather than learning many tricks superficially and then forgetting them afterward.
Of course, it’s possible to integrate more tricks into the workshop upon request. In such cases, I recommend planning for varied breaks to avoid monotony and to keep attention and enjoyment of learning high. The goal is to make the workshop enjoyable. Finding the right balance between learning and entertainment is important to me.
To accommodate different learning speeds, I proceed very deliberately and step by step with all the effects. This approach ensures that the content is accessible and understandable for all participants. If someone finds the pace too fast or a particular aspect unclear, I am always ready to provide individual support. Even better, though, is when colleagues can help each other. This not only promotes understanding of the effect but also strengthens teamwork and collaboration within the group. Mutual support is a core aspect of the workshop, which helps ensure that every participant can successfully master the magic trick in the end.
After the show, I sometimes provide individual participants with personal feedback on how they can improve certain aspects of their presentation or execution of the trick, if I notice any areas for improvement during the performances. This is always done in a constructive and encouraging manner to boost the participants’ confidence and show them how they can further refine their newly acquired skills. However, it’s important to emphasize that the core theme of the workshop is the fun of the shared experience and magic, not training to become perfect magicians. The main feedback that both I and the participants seek at the end of the workshop is the laughter and applause during the show. These reactions are a direct sign of enthusiasm and appreciation, indicating that the workshop was not only educational but also entertaining and motivating. Although it’s not the primary goal, after the workshop, indeed, every participant masters at least one impressive magic trick.

Personal Details:
I am proud to have made magic my profession and to have realized my dream step by step. During my studies, I always managed to integrate magic into my life. For example, I wrote my master’s thesis at the University of Potsdam on the subject of magic. I have trained young aspiring magicians in a one-week intensive course on how to present their effects most effectively. The techniques and methods that proved to be particularly successful in the evaluation are now applied in my team-building workshops, where I coach executives from both large and small companies.
My magic career began with a simple card trick that my cousin taught me on Christmas. I was hooked from that day and taught myself more effects via the internet. During my studies, I showed them to my fellow students with varying degrees of skill. Several years have passed since then, and now I regularly travel throughout Germany with my magic show and team-building events.
I had tendencies to be the class clown during my school days and enjoyed spreading good cheer. To be honest, I probably enjoy being the center of attention more than others, but that doesn’t mean I begrudge others their attention. Magic fulfills both of these criteria, which is probably why I immediately enjoyed it. Additionally, I like the fundamental idea behind every magic trick, which is that things that seem completely impossible are actually possible. In life, as in magic, it’s often the assumption of impossibility that leads us astray.
I also enjoy being among people and am glad that I can make a living from an activity that brings me joy.
The first magician who inspired me was Jeff McBride, with his charismatic, wild, and lively presentations. His effects are always big and very visual, which fascinated me at the beginning. Over time, my taste has changed, and I have developed a preference for less loud effects that convince me with a more pleasant and charming atmosphere. Both forms of magic have their right to exist, but I gain more joy from presentations with deep magical moments and beautiful stories than from loud effects with confetti, silk scarves, and sometimes even iPads. That’s why I took another magician as a role model early on. Namely Tommy Wonder, who unfortunately is no longer alive, but with his charming close-up magic has shaped my career as a magician.
Every healthy person experiences stage fright when presenting something in front of others. A certain level of excitement is helpful and ensures that one does not become careless. However, once you’ve successfully mastered the same situation hundreds of times, the excitement decreases because you know you will be successful next time too. When I encounter new unfamiliar situations with my magic or introduce new effects into my program, I’m more excited than in well-known situations. Unfortunately, this cannot be changed, and the only way to reduce this excitement is to face the situations, prepare as best as possible, and perform with excitement. The best tip I can give on stage fright is to prepare so well for the situation that you can handle it even in an excited state and have backup solutions ready in case something goes wrong. If you do that, you will also be more relaxed within the situation.
I would advise them to learn some tricks and present them. Instead of constantly learning new tricks like most amateur magicians, I recommend improving the tricks you already know. I have written a detailed guide on how to become a magician here.
